(Business in Cameroon) - Representing, a 26% jump, 1,899,820 new customers have moved towards MTN Cameroon. MTN now counts 7.307 million customers. And, the company said it expects to add another million customers in 2013. Revenues increased 8.9% last year to 236.86 billion francs CFA.
The growth, according to company sources, was helped by a 25% rise in data revenues (excluding SMS) and a growing footprint for its mobile money services.
The operator shares the market with Orange Cameroon and both will in the next two years compete with Viettel Cameroun Sarl, a Vietnamese company, newly granted a licence to operate in Cameroon.
