A memorandum of understanding was signed late Friday April 26, 2013 between the Minister of Water and Energy, Basile Atangana Kouna and the Chief Executive officer of Asia Pacific Wing, Anam Bin Awang in Yaoundé, according to the State owned bilingual daily, Cameroon tribune.

The MOUs concern the construction of a hydro dam over river Maner in Bakassi, South West of the country that is expected to produce between 5 to 8 MW of energy.  Reports say the energy will be used to turn Pamoil mills (palm oil agro-industry) in Ekondo Titi, close to Bakassi. Pamoil is presently opening new palms farms in Bakassi.

The other dam will be constructed over river Njock, located near Eséka in the Centre Region, and has a capacity of 120MW.

Bakassi dam will cost 20 billion while Njock will cost 160 billion francs CFA and the projects will be constructed within 3 to 5 years.
