UBA Managing Director Lauds Cameroon’s Business Climate

Union Bank of Africa Managing Director, Nigerian-born Phillips Oduoza has congratulated government for the enabling business environment in Cameroon.  He made the statement after a courtesy visit to Prime Minister (PM), Philemon Yang at the Star Building (PM’s office) in Yaoundé last Friday April 26, 2013.

The business climate has been quite conducive and we want to assure government of our continuous support to government and people of Cameroon,” Phillips Oduoza told State television, CRTV.

We understand the climate so well and can collaborate and partner very well with government towards achieving the economic development plan put in place”, he added.

UBA is in Cameroon since 2008, counts 14 branches and employs over 300 young Cameroonians, Odouza said. Other executives of the bank and Cameroon’s Managing Director, George Wega accompanied the MD to the audience.

The bank’s headquarters is in Lagos, Nigeria with offices in New York and Paris and in 19 African countries.

UBA management is on tour in their subsidiaries offices in various African countries to see their staff, customers and regulators as well as to pay courtesy visits to government.
