The July 11, 2024 networking cocktail was the American Chamber of Commerce in Cameroon’s landmark event aimed at heightening collaboration between American and Cameroonian companies, a key focus of the Chamber’s mission. Open to the wider business community, the ‘Mixer Event’ attracted diversely specialized business leaders, mostly AmCham members, all gathered around the theme “Further Strengthening Our 'Buy AmCham' Culture”. Highlighting the potential for increased engagement and networking opportunities, projects with significant socioeconomic impact were showcased through vivid presentations by AmCham members, thus fostering meaningful connections and promoting business growth within the American and Cameroonian business communities.
On the importance of the networking initiative as a platform for members to showcase products, enhance visibility, forge partnerships and secure purchasing contracts within the community, AmCham President Laure E. Djoukam reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to its networking culture, by encouraging members to preferentially engage in business with fellow AmChamers whenever possible.
Ashley M. White, the new Director of the U.S. Embassy Branch Office in Douala in her keynote address praised the innovation, creativity, and perseverance that define U.S. businesses championed through organizations like AmCham. She reiterated the embassy’s dedication to collaborating with the business community in strengthening economic ties between the U.S. and Cameroon.
Also in attendance, Dr. Phanuel Habimana, Country Director for WHO Cameroon, highlighted the robust health cooperation between the U.S. Embassy and the people of Cameroon.
Business leaders were urged to seize opportunities presented by AmCham and leverage its networking effort in creating added value within the community.
